A bit of context: the developer of Fishy, Keron Veal, released an update for the first Fishy today. In this update, he added a mode that brings in 10 levels from Fishy2. I decided it would be a great use of my quarantine time to spend four hours on getting the world record for completing all 10 of these levels. Watch the meme run here:

I FINALLY DID IT. It was a somewhat awful run, but at least I finally did it. I am now 4th on SRC, 5th on niconico, and 9th overall. I’m on top of the world right now. The final time was 24:46. Watch the run here:
This was a pretty bad run in comparison to what I want. I had to do 3 dives in Junk Shop, I messed up several menus throughout the run, my movement in TimeLord’s Region wasn’t great, my bad movement in Magic Kingdom made me get 2 extra encounters, and my nerves made me get 1 extra encounter in Hell. I also didn’t get the best Hell’sLord fight, but it was at least decent. On the bright side, I had a relatively great Mu’s Tomb and Skulldrake fight, a very good TimeLord fight, decent RNG in Magic Kingdom and Hell in terms of the kinds and amounts of enemies I encountered, and a perfect stepping stone room. That’s the first time I’ve executed clowp’s stepping stone room strategy in a run. Almost all of my mistakes after TimeLord were solely due to nerves. I’m happy with this run, but I am by no means satisfied. I will continue to grind this category for a 22 minute time, which is definitely possible if I don’t get any extra encounters and be faster in every menu.
I hope you enjoy SaGa Frontier – Blue’s Story in 24:46!

The website is back! My host did some funky things and locked me out for a hot minute, but we’re back now. Since then, I’ve finally started speedrunning SaGa Frontier and may or may not have gotten a 28:53 a couple weeks ago. I’m now seriously grinding the category for a top time. The full run can be found here:
I’ve also created a shared leaderboard for all of SaGa Frontier and am actively scouring both international and Japanese times, both current and ancient, to make it as accurate as possible. Click here to check it out.
Additionally, I’ve switched from streaming on YouTube to streaming on Mixer. So if you want to catch one of my livestreams, you can either find me on Twitch or find me on Mixer.
Anyway, that’s all I wanted to say. Welcome back!

Like the title says, I improved that world record on an offline run. There were a few optimizations that I discovered watching flarebearSR run All Levels (he’s the current WR holder for that btw). Most of the time save was in the extra levels at the end since I figured out you can make the first level’s first cycle if you jump and move forward right away. Also, I’ve decided to stop running this category until further optimizations.
So Fishy2, the long-awaited sequel to indie hit Fishy, finally hit the market today for a whopping $10. I’ll spare you the energy and say that it is not worth that price. It’s barely worth $5 in its current state. I would either wait until the game goes on sale/the price drops, wait for a major update that fixes most of the bad stuff, or obtain a “legitimate” copy. So far, at least five other people have started doing runs of this game. I anticipate that the category I got the world record in today will not be popular at all since it’s short and easy. That category is All Beginner Levels (which will probably change once this game gets a speedrun.com leaderboard). Basically, the goal is to beat all the levels in the Beginner difficulty, which i did in 4 minutes and 6.87 seconds. Video proof of the run is below:
Obviously, this is a bad run for right now. It can be improved by at least 2 seconds with the current route. I don’t know if I’ll be the one to lower the world record or not, but either way, I get permanent bragging rights. I’ll update this post when Fishy2 gets an SRC leaderboard.
